Meet our Miss Rodeo California 2023 Contestants!
A 7th generation Californian, Karissa Rogers is proud to hail from the heart of the Gold Country, calling Jamestown her home. Horses have forever been integrated into her 23 years of life, providing endless opportunities to compete in gymkhana, western pleasure, reining, and ranch versatility. Among her other passions lie photography, scribing at horse shows, volunteering within her community, reading, and spending time with her family. Karissa is scheduled to graduate next summer from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. While she continues to show and train ranch versatility horses, one of Karissa’s goals is to become an AQHA and APHA horse show judge.
Lucky number four of five children, McKensey Middleton is a contestant for Miss Rodeo California 2023.
Raised in the small gold mining community of Hathaway Pines in Calaveras County, McKensey grew up with a love for horses. This love is what led her to find her passion for the sport of rodeo. Recently graduated from University of California Davis with a degree in Biochemisty and Molecular Biology, she plans on attending Davis School of Veterinary Medicine to work on small and large animals. McKensey is excited for the opportunity to represent the state and sport she loves through this year’s pageant! California or Bust!
Corissa King is a proud fifth-generation Californian from Hollister. She graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a degree in Media Communication and Journalism with a Broadcast Journalism option. A 23-year-old professional, Corissa puts her background to work at Ariat International as an Assistant Product Developer of footwear. As the oldest daughter of Dean and Cindy King, it was a given that she would be out riding with her parents before she could walk. Corissa’s passion for riding has continued to grow; now, she is also committed to representing the sport of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association both in and out of the arena, on and off camera. An active member of various rodeo associations, she enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering. Corissa firmly believes that giving back to others, especially those who have supported her, is very important because she knows firsthand that helping others makes a difference. Eager to continue her journey and promote the sport of rodeo, Corissa looks forward to competing for the title of Miss Rodeo California 2023.
